Virginia Camp History
How Virginia Camp Started
As a child I attended F.C. camp on the Florida College campus. My sister and I rode a bus with other campers for 3 days from Kansas City, Kansas to Tampa, Florida. After attending camp for six years, I studied at Florida College. Camp was one of the biggest influences for my decision to attend Florida College.
As an adult living in Virginia, I realized there was a need and desire for another Florida College Camp in this area. In 2004, I made a call to the college and spoke with Ralph Walker.
In August 2005, Florida College Virginia Camp was established at a different location in the Shenandoah Mountains. We opened with 50 campers. Three years later we moved to our current location, Camp Overlook in Keezletown. While still small in numbers, the enthusiasm and love for the Lord is evident at F.C. Virginia Camp. One thing I can promise is that the kids can't wait to go to Camp!
